WOW–Just Call Me Slacker

I have been slacking on updating my blog, *slaps myself on the hand* Bad me!  I have however been creating things. 2 dresses for K but only one 4 “pack” of papers. First the papers, I call them “flowering hearts” and can be downloaded HERE.

  

Next are her dresses.  The first dress is what the designer called “Girls Braided Dress” that I found the tutorial for on FaveCrafts.com. Here is what K’s ended up looking like.

   

 

And then the dress I made for her last night.  I found the pattern on Brynnberlee's Etsy Shop.  The dress I made was the Super Twirly Tiered Dress.  Since I have a bunch of the solid seersucker blue left over from the first dress, and K loves the color as well, we decided to use that to accent this one.  Here is how K’s turned out.

 

 

 

Also you will notice the difference in the length of K’s hair in these photos.  It is a sour spot in my mind yet still, but this girl found a pair of safety scissors in the linen closet 2 weeks ago, when she was supposed to be sleeping, and chopped off the whole left side of her head.  So now not only did she have to have a shorter bob from the first time she got ahold of some scissors, but now she had to go to a complete “boy” cut.  I know it is only hair, and just about every child does it at one point or another, but it wasn’t just a small piece this time, this time it was the whole side of her head, her Rapunzel Barbie doll hair, and the jammies she was wearing that night.  I was so sad about it all that I cried for her.  

I have also decided that being a nanny outside of our home was not going to work for me & K.  K did not adjust well to not getting my full attention, but also to having to change her schedule up completely to someone else’s.  This also took time away from her seeing her daddy.  The 4 days a week I was working, on full days, I wasn’t getting home till 6:45pm, then it was dinner time for her and basically straight to bed for 8pm.  She started acting up cause of all of it and just wasn’t listening to anything I would ask her or tell her to do.  It was not only rough on her, but also on myself cause she was stressing me out terribly, to the point where I was getting sick from it all.  I am now officially a homemaker again.  Money will be tight, but we will  survive…for now at least till I can find a part time night job so she can still spend the day with me and the evenings with daddy.

I have also been going to the gym at least 3 days a week.  So far I have lost a total of 16 pounds, which is the lowest I have weighed since before I got pregnant with K in 2007!!  I am hoping to keep on this track and keep the weight off this time.

Sorry for the babble, but that has been about all that is going on around here that is keeping me busy.

Love Papers

I created another half dozen papers tonight.  They can be found HERE. For some reason, not sure if they changed their system or what not, but the previews as of the time that I write this seem to be not working on a scroll over and doing a preview of the actual file seems to take quite some time to load. Sorry about that, but I tried everything I knew what to do to get it to work, and I can’t figure it out. Here is a preview however with all of the colors.  They are all 8.5”x11”. If you are wanting these in another size, please let me know and I can alter them for you.

Got Some Time

I had some time this evening to play around with making papers again.  I made some 8.5x11 papers with different shades of a single rose. They can be found HERE. Feel free to use for personal use.

The photos are really not the best for these, they were taken in bad light and with my phone, but you can at least see them now.

Here is the pencil shirt type dress I made K. Top is a white shirred with ruffled top, bottom is red/white/blue butterflies.

Using the same shirred top with top ruffle, the bottom and straps are red & blue “firework” stars.  She worse this one on the 4th of July and let me tell you, I sure hope it comes clean, it got pretty dirty when we were at the park for the afternoon/evening/night.

Returned To Work

After 3.5 years of completely being a stay at home mom, I have returned to work this week.  While I am still lucky enough to have K with me daily, I am now a nanny to a 4 year old and 19 month old sisters.  I have known the 4 year old since she was about 10 months old and the 19 month old well since she was still in mommy’s tummy.  K and P(4yo) play pretty well together, as with any setting of toddlers,  you are going to get some not getting along or tattling, but all in all they are great together.  And well A(19mo) is just a sweetie and cries when I leave. 

Along with going back to work, my husband and I have joined the gym basically across the street from us.  I am still trying to get my work schedule down completely so I can work in dinner and bedtime for K after we get home, and figure out when I get time to get over to the gym.  It will get routine here soon hopefully though.

That all being said, until we get all get into each others routines, my crafting is kinda put on hold unfortunately.  I have been trying to get some squares done for a couple blankets I am making, unfortunately though I am only averaging a square a night.  I did get a purse made for an order (photos will be coming this weekend sometime), and a pencil skirt type dress for K (also will post this weekend).  Hopefully I will get around to making a few papers this weekend as well.  I have had requests for regular size papers (8.5”x11”) as many don’t have wide format printers, but still want to use the designs.  I will create some of those for you, as well as some 8”x8” papers soon. 

Well there is where my recent crafting/posting hiatus came from.  I will hopefully get things all set here soon for me to get back into it all.
